There are different kinds of believes from Christianity to Buddism, and from originary cultures (latinamerican mythology), hindu myths, going through Celtics, Nordics, Romans, Greeks, Persians, Arabians, etc.
However the believes that have caught my attention has been the mythology about lost cities and the origins of the biggest civilizations, these are Atlantis, the fall of Trojan, the First Kingdoms in India, among others.
The Atlants according to the mythology they are a civilization that was located in the ocean, beyond the Iberic west sea, the people was very advanced in technology and civility, but because their stubborn they were destroyed, because the Gods sent a big cataclysm and no one ever found any trace of them.
The Iliad tells the story of Trojan ruins, after a war between the Achaeans and Trojans, the survives spread in many directions buildings new kingdoms in the mediterranean shores.
The Mahábharata or the Sacred Scripture of India tells about the struggle for the throne of the capitol Hastinapura between the Kauravas and Pandaras.
After Pandarass won the war, it was
started the Kaly Era (Kaly - Yuga) where humanity is inmoral and values decadence.
These are just a few examples of how humanity tries to explain the origins of civilizations.
